Tea tree oil is one of the best gifts nature has given us. It is a concentrated plant oil from the leaves of a tree growing on the swampy southeast Australian coast. This tree is also known as Melaleuca alternifolia.
In my case, I use it not only during my beauty services (manicures, pedicures and waxing) but I also use it frequently at home for cleaning and disinfecting, to treat acne and I even used it once to get rid of nasty lice in my daughterâs hair. I can say that tea tree oil definitely works because I’ve used it for many years and proved it myself. So I definitely recommend that Instead of having a bunch of medicine, antibiotics and creams full of chemicals and preservatives in your cabinet, you can just have a bottle of this amazing essential oil.
As a nail technician I’ve gotten many questions as to how to kill a nail fungus. So in this post I want to share one of the most effective ways to use tea tree oil, which is to treat a ugly nail fungus infection.
There’s nothing more embarrassing and uncomfortable than having a nail fungus. Unfortunately, nail fungus are very contagious. You can get it from walking on a surface that is contaminated, such as, pools, saunas, bathrooms, etc. You can also get it from sharing socks or shoes with somebody who suffers with this condition. But the most common way is getting your nails done in salons that don’t disinfect their tools properly.
If you have this condition, before you decide to use medications with Terbinafine (better known as Lamisil) which is known for harming your liver, I invite you to try tea tree oil. You can buy it in any health store or pharmacy.
Treating nail funguses with tea tree oil is very simple, but you need to be very consistent.
First, wash the affected area two times a day, and then place two or three drops of the oil on your nails, making sure it falls beneath the nail. Do this everyday until you see that the fungus is gone. I also recommend that you continue to do this for about 1 or 2 months after its gone just to make sure it doesn’t come back.
Tea tree oil can be very strong on your skin if it’s your first time using it. To avoid any burning sensation, excessive dryness or itching, you can ease it with some olive oil.
Please notice that even though it’s natural, tea tree oil can be toxic if you swallow it. So please keep it out of the reach of children and don’t touch your eyes after having it on your fingers.
I guarantee you that this tip will be useful! In just a few months, your nails will look beautiful and healthy! Don’t hesitate to ask me a question or to leave a comment. I’ll answer as soon as I can. See you next time!
